A 55-year-old Filipina working in a hotel in Dubai was sentenced to 6 months in prison and will be deported after serving her jail term.
The Filipina was said hired as Hotel Nurse and later her title was changed to Health Care Coordinator.
The accounting department found out about the anomaly when they audited the receipts filed by the nurse for employees who already had done health tests. They found out she has submitted duplicate receipts 2,300 times where she changed the pictures of employees on the forms and even for staff members who already had left work.
During the internal investigation she admitted to the forgery. Records showed that she embezzled Dh 1,258,620.
