According to a survey conducted by the  Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) through the Manpower Development Division of Employment Branch, Welfare and Employment Office, the following are the top 10 in-demand skills:

The survey is aimed to identify preferred skills in priority industries to boost promotion and preservation of the jobs of Filipino workers for the Project Job Fit: DOLE 2020 Vission by the  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Top 10 in-demand skills/occupations for overseas employment:

1.   Civil Engineer
      Skilled Welders

2.   Mechanical Engineers
      Electrician

3.   Skilled Carpenter

4.   Mason

5.   Instrument Pipe Fitter

6.   Waiter/Waitress

7.   HVAC Supervisor

8.   Electrical Engineer
      Plumber

9.   Steel Fixer
      Nurse

10. Auto CAD Operator
      Architect
      Aluminum Fabricator Installer
      Heavy Duty Driver/Operator

Based on the information  gathered by Manpower Development Division, they stated that:

"The identified in-demand skills/occupations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Japan, Taiwan and Hongkong fall under the skills classification of 

• Health and Engineering Professionals,
• Technicians,
• Highly Skilled Workers,
• Housekeepers and 
• Factory Workers. 

The qualification standards mostly stated are; BS Graduate, with license and with hospital working experience. For Nurse, age requirement was also identified and for non-health workers/personnel, work experience preferably in line with their occupation.
