POEA To Facilitate NEW e-Recruitment Process for Taiwan

A new hiring process is being implemented for Filipinos looking to work in Taiwan.

It is called T-IDES or Taiwan- International Direct e-recruitment System. With this system, POEA will be the one to facilitate the recruitment process or Government Placement Branch. There will be no participation of private recruitment agencies or broker. The system does not only cuts down the processing time, and cost but it also simplifies the hiring process.

In this system POEA, OWWA, TESDA, the International Labor Affairs Bureau, MECO Labor Centers in Taiwan, and the National Reintegration Center for OFWs will participate in the hiring process.

The POEA will notify the top 3 choices of employer for the job and request them to submit requirements. From this the employer will review the candidates as endorsed by POEA. This step is estimated to take 3-5 days.

After the decision of the employer, POEA will document the worker and OWWA will conduct the pre-departure orientation and manage the welfare related intervention for the worker.

TESDA will also participate by providing a registry of certified workers and graduates and also provide list of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) providers offering the program that meets the employer requirement.

Selected workers will undergo medical examination, contract signing, submission of required documents , payment of fees, issuance of OEC, airline booking, pre-departure orientation seminar, and language training.

It is estimated that the recruitment time could be completed from only 12 to 18 days.

On September 7, NXP Semiconductors had participated on the initial implementation of T-IDES.  The NXP Human Resource Officer Kelly CJ Chen thanked the POEA for the smooth  implementation of recruitment process.
“We are satisfied with the smooth flow in conducting the company presentation, tests, and interviews for the applicants—divided into four batches—in three days. POEA officials and employees, indeed, worked hard from early morning till evening in monitoring details that we really appreciated,” Chen said.
