Israel, naghahanap ng 500 caregivers; naghihintay na sahod halos P80,000





MANILA, Philippines — SA kabila ng Covid-19 pandemic, marami pa rin sa mga Filipino ang naghahanap at nagnanais na makapag-trabaho sa abroad. Kung isa ka sa mga nais maging Overseas Filipino Workers o OFW, naghahanap ngayon ang bansang Israel ng nasa 500 mga caregivers!

Matapos ideneklara ang ceasefire sa pagitan ng Israel at Palestine, tuloy na tuloy na ang deployment ng mga OFWs sa Israel.

Sa report ng Abs-Cbn, nasa 500 home-based caregivers ang kailangan ngayon ng Israel at tinatayang nasa 5,300 New Israeli Shekels ang buwanang sahod o aabot sa P77,320.

Sa mga interesado sa nabanggit na trabaho, narito ang mga qualifications ayon na rin sa Philippine Overseas Employment Administration o POEA:
  • Filipino citizen
  • At least 23 years old
  • At least 1.5 meters ang taas
  • At least 45 kg ang timbang
  • BS nursing or BS physical therapist graduate or nakatapos ng 10 taon ng pag-aaral at may TESDA certification na NCII para sa caregiving at may 760 oras ng training
  • English language proficiency
  • Hindi pa nakapagtrabaho sa Israel
  • Walang magulang, asawa o anak na nagtatrabaho o nakatira sa Israel
  • Malusog ang isip at pangangatawan
  • May NBI clearance
Nilinaw naman ng POEA na government-to-government ang hiring ng mga caregivers sa Israel. Ibig sabihin, sa POEA lamang maaaring mag-apply ang mga interesado o sa kanilang website.

Kinakailangan naman ng aplikante na mag-register sa website ng POEA at sundin ang mga instructions.

Susuriin din ng POEA ang online application at magbibigay ng schedule para sa interview, submission of documents at pre-recruitment briefing para ipaliwanag ang proseso ng pagpili ng mga Israeli employer.

Ayon sa pahayag ng isang caregiver sa Israel na si Jan Magbanua, tatlong buwan pa lamang ito sa Israel ngunit nabawi na niya ang lahat ng gastos at sakripisyo nito.

"Ang mga Pilipino caregivers dito sa Israel ay mataas 'yung tingin nila… Maganda 'yung pasweldo nila, maganda rin 'yung alam mo 'yung benefits… Thankful talaga ako," pahayag ni Magbanua.

Noong Oktubre lamang nagpadala ng ika-11 batch ng mga Filipino Caregivers sa Israel ang POEA.

DOLE: 5,000 Hotel Jobs For Filipinos, May Open Soon In Israel




The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) are hopeful that the Philippines can deploy hotel worker in Israel as early as November this year. DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III confirmed that there may soon be 5,000 openings for Filipino hotel workers in the said country. According to reports, the Israeli government has expressed a preference for Filipino workers to fill the job positions. Bello assures that the pay is always very good since caregivers are receiving $1, 350 to $2,000 a month in the said country. He added that hotel workers may have the same amount of salary. If you are planning to apply for this job, DOLE advised soon to be applicants to prepare and secure a certificate from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It said that this is one of the requirements for applicants who want to enter the hotel and restaurant industry. Japanese Ambassador Koji Haneda said through the residency status the country is planning to offer, more skilled foreign workers will be able to get job opportunities in his country next year. Low Placement Fees For OFWs In This Country, Soon

One of the many problems encountered by overseas Filipino workers (OFW) prior to their deployment is the high placement fees collected by recruitment agencies aside from processing and medical fees and other expenses in securing various documents in applying for overseas jobs. For that reason, they are forced to sell their properties or to avail loans even on a high interest rate. But for the OFW caregivers who are applying for deployment to Israel, the placement fees will become lower as a new bilateral agreement is being forged between the two countries.

Caregivers who have work experience in Canada caring for people with high medical needs may apply for permanent residence through the Caring for People with High Medical Needs Program. But this program will come to an end on November 29, 2019. That means eligible applicants will have a more than a year to apply for the program before the said date. To be eligible to apply, a two years full-time work experience as a caregiver is number one requirement. But according to Filipino caregiver Margie Lingbaoan, she applied for permanent residency in 2013 but until now she is still waiting for the approval and have no idea about the status of her application in immigration. On the other hand, Connie Sorio, coordinator of KAIROS Migrants Justice and Asia Partnership believes that Filipino caregivers will look for other countries as an option if Canada will end the permanent residency opportunity. She added the country is very cold and very far from the Philippines. Sorio said the only reason why many caregivers are coming to Canada because of the residency opportunity.
