Saudi Arabia is leading the coalition of GCC and other Arab countries dubbed as OPERATION DECISIVE STORM in a bid to save Yemen in response to the letter of the President of the Republic of Yemen, Abd -Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The coalition is joined by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Morocco, Jordan and Sudan, as well as of Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and Pakistan.

The 11 Wonders In Saudi You Shouldn't Miss

According to Arab News, the cars move uphill even without stepping on the car's accelerator. I think this could be dangerous if that is the case. But it was also said that the mountains in the area are magnetic hills that attract metal objects otherwise known as reverse gravity while others claim it is only an optical illusion that you are running uphill but that the road is actually inclined downwards. The Muslims believed that the city was destroyed and the people were punished by Allah after they started idol worship, the place has also earned the reputation of a "cursed place". For social and economic reform under Vision 2030, the way of life in Saudi Arabia is changing before our eyes this year. By the end of 2018, the Kingdom may look very different with these series of changes. Several major reforms announced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will take effect this year to shift the Kingdom's dependency on oil revenues. Saudi nationals are not just the one who can experience these changes but also Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and other expatriates who are working in the kingdom. These changes may bring positive or negative impact to all people who are residing in the country. The following will be the biggest changes to happen these next few months! 1. Cinemas will be back! This April 18 the first cinema will re-open in Saudi Arabia after a 35-year ban. The Kingdom imposed a complete ban on cinemas in the early 1980s. According to reports, the first cinema will open in King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh and a source told Reuters that it will not require men and women to sit separately. The first movie to break the 35-year old ban is the blockbuster "Black Panther". For the next five years, 40 cinemas will open in 15 cities in Saudi Arabia from a total target of 350 cinemas or 2,500 screens across the country 2030. 2. Orchestra and Opera will be opened The 32-year old crown prince is currently seeking foreign partners to set up national orchestra and opera in the kingdom. Paris Opera is the latest cultural powerhouse to sign-up with an agreement. Plans for the first opera house in Jeddah is already underway. Saudi Arabia said in February that it would invest $64bn in developing its entertainment industry over the next decade. 3. Women will be able to drive In June, a long-standing ban on women driving will finally be lifted. This is based on a royal decree issued last September 2017. The move is expected to spur growth and give women a much bigger role in the economy. Only 22% of women are active in the workforce. Vision 2030 aims to lift that to 30%. 4. Women will be allowed into sports stadiums Last October 2017, the General Sports Authority said that three of the country's biggest stadium will begin to accommodate families in 2018. Saudi men and women are customarily separated in public places. But that restriction is also slowly being relaxed. Men and women were able to sit together at several music concerts and events in 2017. 5. Saudi Arabia will welcome tourist This year, the Kingdom is expected to issue a visa to tourists. With this tourist will be able to visit Saudi Arabia for the first time. Visas were previously restricted to people traveling to the country for work or to visit its holy sites. The kingdom has ambitious plans to grow its tourism industry. It has already announced several projects, including one to build a series of resorts on about 100 miles of the Red Sea's sandy coastline. It is aiming to attract 30 million visitors a year by 2030, up from 18 million in 2016. 6. Clarification on wearing of Abaya According to Prince Mohammad, the Sharia Law does not particularly specify a black abaya or a black head cover to be worn by women. But women should wear a decent and respectful clothing like men. He said the decision is entirely left for women to decide what types of decent and respectful attire she chooses to wear. A senior cleric also said that women in the country should dress modestly, but this did not necessitate wearing the abaya. 7. Gas and goods prices are increasing It has already started on January 1. People in Saudi Arabia is now paying a lot more for gas. State-owned Aramco, the world's biggest oil producer, jacked up prices at the pump by as much as 127% while premium gasoline now costs 2.04 riyals per liter. Saudis are also paying more for most consumer goods and services. A new 5% sales tax took effect on January 1, part of an effort to boost government revenues from sources other than oil. 8. Saudization will continue To cut unemployment rate, Saudization will continue. Based on the target this year, by September 2018, 12 jobs will be limited to Saudi nationals. These include jobs at car and motorbike shops, men's and children's wear, office furniture, and home utensils. By November 9, 2018 Saudization at shops selling electronic and electric appliances, watches and eyeglasses will come into effect. By January 2019, jobs at medical equipment, building materials, car spare parts, carpets and rugs, and confectionary shops will also be nationalized. Next to this are jobs in shopping malls, car rentals, and gold and jewelry shops.


Saudi Arabia is one country where migrants worker cannot easily come and go if their records are not cleared be it for crimes, violations, or even debt. This is what happened to an Overseas Filipino Worker (WHO) who is supposedly scheduled for vacation last month but barred from leaving the airport due to four-year-old debt that he said he already settled. In GMA News, OFW Ernesto Guillamon from Caloocan City said he has been held in immigration because of his debt way back in 2014. According to Guillamon, he was about to board his flight when he was stopped by an immigration officer who told him that his Iqama or residence permit was "blocked" and that he has to get clearance first before he could be allowed to leave Saudi Arabia. Guillamon admitted that in 2014, he and his friends loaned from a lending company. He loaned SAR3,000 and use the money for his house construction in the Philippines. But he said, he already paid his debt. The problem arises when he know very recently that the collector did not remit his payment. He was also surprised that his debt accumulates interest up to SAR15,000 or around P200,000. Worse, he learned from friends that the person in charge of the collection has gone missing. While clearing his name, the Philippine Consulates allowed him to temporarily stay within its premises while his case was pending. Because of the problem, Consul General Edgar Badajos advised OFWs to avoid debts if they can and cautioned OFWs against swindlers.

 For a decade, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the top destination of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and other expatriate workers around the world. This 2018 the Kingdom is imposing major economic overhaul to reduce its dependence on oil revenues. Hence, five percent of Value Added Tax (VAT) is implemented that greatly affects expat workers together with the OFWs. Nowadays, VAT is not only affecting OFWs in Saudi Arabia, but they are also affected by the Saudization where foreign workers are no longer accepted in certain jobs or professions that are now reserved for Saudi citizen only. It is reported that by the end of 2018 many sectors will be fully Saudized under the campaign to replace at least 30,000 expats in Tourism, retail stores, and shopping malls.

Small Practical House Designs





It is summer already in Philippines, vacation time it is.
While I love being home for vacation, that means enjoy the foods and beautiful places like beach, farms, etch. Owning a house is not in our plans right now, but if things change and we decide to repatriate we have considered some plans of owning or building our own home. 

Here are some of the cute house designs I have seen:


I like the way this house has been elevated, because flood is something that should be part of our contingency. The log style is also beautiful, but I would opt better if this could be made into concrete instead of wood. We know how termites could infest too.

This one is a small house, which I believe is made from recycled container van and cladded with wood. My stand with wood remains the same, this will not last for long term specially the steel footings which could easily rust due to high humidity and rain. But if you are looking for affordable home you might consider this, they said that container van has average life span of 20 years depending on other external factors. It is also earthquake proof. And  it  looks really nice.

I think this one looks perfect if you have the perfect budget. We have a small lot located in the metro and I believe this is the best type of house we could build to maximize the area and still have a small garden. The house is 2 storey with an attic, it also has lots of windows which I love.

J-Lo's Crazy Magical Dress

Jennifer Lopez performed last Thursday night, March 19, during the American Idol show her new song "Feel The Light". She actually looks stunning but more than that is this magically, crazy, extra-ordinary dress. Watch on the video below to see for yourself.

She wore an enormous  Mariel Haenn gown. 

And the lighting effects made it look so wonderful and according to kids, very magical and enchanted.
