STEP BY STEP GUIDE IN REGISTERING SECOND HAND MOTOR VEHICLES AND HOW MUCH TO PAY

Here are the steps and requirements for the registration of your motor vehicle in the Philippines.

For IMPORTED SECOND-HAND (USED Car) EXEMPTED FROM EO 156/877-A,
You need to prepare the following documents:

Commercial Invoice or Certificate of Registration from country of origin.

1.BOC Certificate of Payment

2.Sales Invoice of MV

3.Certificate of Stock Reported (CSR)

4.Certificate of Compliance to Emission

5.Standards (CCES) issued by the Regional Office

6.PNP-TMG MV Clearance Certificate

7.Duly accomplished and approved Motor Vehicle Inspection Report (MVIR) issued by the MVIS or by any alternate

8.MVIS accredited by LTO

9.Appropriate insurance certificate of cover

10-Taxpayer’s Identification Number (TIN)




IMPORTED SECOND HAND THROUGH THE NO DOLLAR IMPORTATION PROGRAM

4.BOC Certificate of Payment for the whole unit

5.Certificate of Stock Reported issued by the Regional Office for the assembly of the rebuilt motor vehicle in compliance with RA-6539, the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972

6.Affidavit of Rebuilt

7.Affidavit of Conversion, if applicable

8.Certificate of Compliance to Emissions Standards (CCES) issued by the Regional Office

9.PNP-TMG MV Clearance Certificate

10.Duly accomplished and approved Motor Vehicle Inspection Report (MVIR) issued by the MVIS or any alternate

11.MVIS duly accredited by LTO.

PROCEDURE:

1. Proceed to the transaction counters and submit all the required documents to the Evaluator for evaluation and computation of fees.

2. Actual inspection of motor vehicles with duly accomplished MVIR. (This form is available for download here. You can accomplish this form prior to transacting your business at the LTO.)

3. Proceed to the Cashier when your name is called for the necessary fees and obtain an Official Receipt (OR).

4. Proceed to the Releasing Counter when your name is called to obtain the Certificate of Registration (CR), plates, stickers, and other requested documents.
