POEA: More than 1, 200 Filipino Workers Needed In Saudi Arabia; 200 More In Taiwan


The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that more than 1,200 specialist nurses and 100 respiratory therapists are in need in Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, Taiwan has 200 job vacancy for Filipino's to grab this November.

According to GMA News, interested applicants to Saudi Arabia must register with the POEA and these jobs are "No Placement Fee".

According to so Jocelyn Sanchez, deputy administrator of POEA, this is under the government to the government program and applicants only need to spend for their documentation fee.

A big salary is waiting for Filipinos for the said field; according to report, salary for specialist nurses can start at P56,000 per month while respiratory therapist will receive as high as P109,000 a month.

Aside from Saudi Arabia, Taiwan is also looking for 200 factory workers for food processing, food analysis inspectors and bakers are also needed. The salary for these positions could reach P35,000 per month.

According to POEA, applicants must be at least high school graduate or vocational graduate, physically and mentally fit to work, no color blindness, no tattoos, and with good communication in oral and written English.

POEA said interested applicants for Taiwan must first register at www.eregister.poea.gov.ph before they could submit the required documents at the POEA office in Manila or Davao City.

In this article, we will find out what causes diabetes and what this disease actually do to our body. These glucose then move to the bloodstream. the body detects that the blood glucose number is rising. The pancreas then starts releasing the hormone called insulin. Insulin help us absorb the energy from the food we eat. Both insulin and the glucose are delivered to the part of the body which needs energy through the bloodstream. WHAT IS THE SALARY LIMITS?
  • For a husband sponsoring wife 
For a husband to sponsor his wife and children, he needs to be earning Dh3,000 plus accommodation or Dh4,000 without accommodation.
  • Wife sponsoring husband (basic category)
For a wife to sponsor her husband and children, she should be earning Dh3,000 plus accommodation, or Dh4,000 without accommodation - if she is a teacher, doctor, engineer or in any medical sector-role.
  • Wife sponsoring husband (another category)
For women who work in other categories, a special request needs to be submitted to General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA or DNRD) for approval after which the processes are the same. The salary limit in this case usually starts at Dh8,000 with accommodation, but this needs to be verified with GDRFA as the approvals are given on a case to case basis.

WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED?
  • Typed application form
  • Salary certificate and attested work contracts
  • Three months bank statement for long-time residents (New residents can submit 1-month bank statement and bank letter confirming salary transfer)
  • Attested tenancy contract, Emirates ID card and labor contract of sponsor
  • Marriage certificate that has been attested by UAE authorities (regardless of where you were married)
  • Passports (original) and copies of both sponsor and family member/s.
  • Medical check-up report of spouse or children over 15 years of age from authorized hospital/clinic
  • 3 passport photos of family member/s
  • Approval from GDRFA in case of the other category of employment for women.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

Step 1 - Go to a typing center with copies of all relevant documents and get a typed up application form. It will cost around Dh310 per family member not inclusive of typing charges.

Step 2 - Submit the application form, copy of entry visa (tourist or visit), medical certificate and all other documents at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA) to get the visa approved. The total visa fee is around Dh360 per person.

Step 3 - If your spouse is not in the country at the time of application, he or she has to complete medical tests, visa stamping and Emirates ID procedures within 60 days of the date of entry as given in the entry permit.

Step 4 - If your spouse is in the country, he or she need not exit the country. Pay Dh510 to change the status of the visa from temporary to residency without leaving the UAE.

1. What is Republic Act 9048?

Republic Act (RA) 9048 authorizes the City or Municipal Civil Registrar or the Consul General to correct a clerical or typographical error in an entry and/or change the first name or nickname in the civil register without need of a judicial order.

RA 9048 amends Articles 376 and 412 of the Civil Code of the Philippines, which prohibit the change of name or surname of a person, or any correction or change of entry in a civil register without a judicial order.

 2. What is a clerical or typographical error?

A clerical or typographical error refers to an obvious mistake committed in clerical work, either in writing, copying, transcribing, or typing an entry in the civil register that is harmless and innocuous, such as a misspelled name or misspelled place of birth and the like, and can be corrected or changed only by reference to other existing record or records.

3. What are corrections can be made by RA 9048?

RA 9048 allows these corrections:

1. correction of clerical or typographical errors in any entry in civil registry documents, except corrections involving the change in sex, age, nationality and status of a person (Example: EHAN instead of ETHAN)

2. change of a person's first name in his/her civil registry document under certain grounds specified under the law through administrative process. (Example: Everyone calls and knows you by the name “MARICEL” but in your birth certificate you found out that your true name is “MARIA CECILIA”)

4. What are the grounds for correction or error in the name or entry in the civil registry documents?

1. that there was an obvious mistake committed in clerical work, either in writing, copying, transcribing, or typing an entry in the civil register that is harmless and innocuous, such as a misspelled name or misspelled place of birth and the like, and can be corrected or changed only by reference to other existing record or records.

5. What are the grounds for a change of first name or nickname?

(1) The first name or nickname is ridiculous, tainted with dishonor or extremely difficult to write or pronounce;

(2) The new first name or nickname has been habitually and continuously used by the petitioner and he has been publicly known by that first name or nickname in the community; or,

(3) The change will avoid confusion.

6. What should I do to correct entries in my birth certificate or civil registry documents?

Step 1: Prepare your documents for your petition.

The petition shall be supported by the following documents so you need to get these before you go to a Lawyer who is a Notary Public:

1. A certified true machine copy of the certificate or of the page of the registry book containing the entry or entries sought to be corrected or changed. (You should get this in the Local Civil Registry where the document or your birth certificate was registered)

2. At least two (2) public or private documents showing the correct entry or entries upon which the correction or change shall be based; (Examples of these documents are the following: baptismal certificate, voter's affidavit, employment record, GSIS/SSS record, medical record, school record, business record, driver's license, insurance, land titles, certificate of land transfer, bank passbook, NBI/police clearance, civil registry records of ascendants, and others.)and

3. Other documents which the petitioner or the city or municipal civil registrar or the consul general may consider relevant and necessary for the approval of the petition.

For those who want to change their first name: No petition for change of the first name shall be accepted unless the petitioner submits the required supporting papers, as follows:

a.) All the documents required of the petitioner for the correction of clerical error shall also be required of the petitioner for change of the first name.(those enumerated above)

b.)Clearance from authorities such as clearance from the employer, if employed; the National Bureau of Investigation; the Philippine National Police; and other clearances as may be required by the concerned civil registrar.

c.) Proof of Publication. An affidavit of publication from the publisher and copy of the newspaper clippings should be attached.

Step 2: Go to a Lawyer who is a Notary Public. Tell him/her that you need to prepare your petition for correction of your name or entry in the birth certificate or that you want to change your first name.

The petition, which must be in an affidavit form, must state the following facts or information:

a. Merits of the petition

b. Competency of the petitioner

c. Erroneous entry to be corrected and proposed correction; first name to be changed and the proposed new first name

Step 3: Go to your City or Municipal Civil Registrar’s office and file your petition. While you are there, you must pay the filing fee:

One thousand pesos (P1,000.00) for the correction of clerical error

Three thousand pesos (P3,000.00) for the change of the first name

In the case of a petition filed with the Consul General (CG), the fees are the same for all Philippine Consulates. The fees are the following:

Fifty U.S. dollars ($50.00) for the correction of clerical or typographical error

One hundred fifty U.S. dollars ($150.00) for the change of the first name

A migrant petitioner shall pay an additional service fee to the Petition Receiving Civil Registrar (PRCR).

This service fee shall accrue to the local treasury of the PRCR.

Five hundred pesos (P500.00) for correction of clerical or typographical error

One thousand pesos (P1,000.00) for change of the first name

7. Who may file the petition?

Whether it is for correction of clerical or typographical error, or for a change of the first name, the petition may be filed by a person of legal age who must have a direct and personal interest in the correction of the error or in the change of the first name in the civil register.

A person is considered of legal age when he is eighteen years old and above. Thus, a minor (less than eighteen years old) cannot by himself file a petition, either for correction of a clerical or typographical error or for a change of his first name.

Only the following persons are considered to have a direct and personal interest in the correction of clerical error or change of the first name:

Owner of the record that contains the error to be corrected or first name to be changed

Owner's spouse, children, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, guardian, or any other person duly authorized by law or by the owner of the document sought to be corrected.

8. Where should the petition be filed?

The general rule is that petition shall be filed with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) where the record containing the clerical error to be corrected or first name to be changed is kept. Included in this general rule is the case of the Office of the Clerk of Shari'a Court where records of divorces, revocations of divorces, conversions to Islam are kept and where some Muslim marriages are registered.

However, in case the petitioner is a migrant within or outside the Philippines, meaning his present residence or domicile is different from where his civil registry record or records are registered, he may file the petition in the nearest LCRO in his area. His petition will be treated as a migrant petition.

Different Visa's Going to Japan - What You Need to Know

Working visas are necessary for individuals who wish to engage in a full-time activity. They are mostly divided by professional fields and must be renewed regularly.

 More than a dozen of different working visas currently exist. Most of them are valid for a period from 3 months to 5 years. For each of them, specific supporting documents will be needed. A detailed list can be found on the Immigration Office website.

Here's a list of some of the most common type of working visas in Japan:

Religious activities: Religious people (monks, bishops, missionaries, etc.) sent from foreign religious organizations. Documents from the religious organization certifying the duration of stay, position and the remuneration of the applicant, their position and career history need to be provided.

Journalist: Visa required for news coverage and journalistic activities for foreign media. This does not include work for a Japanese newspaper, online media, TV or radio. Documents from a foreign journalistic organization certifying continuation of dispatch or contract and documents proving an annual income and tax payment are required.

Engineer: Those who work in the fields of physical science, engineering or other natural fields, who have a contract with a public or private organization in Japan, can apply for this visa.
The basic requirements include having a university degree in the corresponding field, or 10 years of professional experience, and to receive no less remuneration than a Japanese national would receive for comparable work. For the sponsoring company, certain criteria are taken into account, including its stability, profitability and continuity.

Medical services: Physicians, dentists, pharmacists, and other medical specialists certified in Japan. This does not include caregivers, social welfare workers or home helpers.
Among the criteria, the applicant must receive a salary no less than a Japanese national would receive for comparable work. Documents showing the outline of the recipient organization and certifying that the applicant is qualified to do activities under this status of residence, will be needed.

Legal/Accounting services: Registered foreign lawyers, certified public accountants or specialists with other legal qualifications who wish to engage in a legal or accounting business. A certificate of the license obtained will be required.

International services: Concerns those who want to work in translation, interpretation, language instruction, public relations, international trade and other related activities. Except for interpretation and translation field where only a university degree is required, applicants must prove at least 3 years of professional experience in the concerned field.

Investor/Business Manager: Probably one of the most difficult working visas to obtain, it concerns those who wish to start or invest into a business in Japan, or manage a business on behalf of foreign investors.
Several conditions must be fulfilled before applying: Employ at least 2 full-time employees in addition to those who manage the business or invest 5 million yen, set-up the company, have a physical office space in Japan (pictures will be requested), and prepare a business plan. Requirements may differ on a case to case basis and the process may be time-consuming, so it is recommended to go through an immigration lawyer to prepare the application.

Researcher: Researchers or investigators working under a contract with a public or private organization in Japan. The applicant will need to provide a copy of their diploma, personal history and documents certifying their career.

Professor: Required for those wanting to work in the research and education field at a university or an equivalent educational institution. Documents needed include copies of the company registration and statement of profit and loss of the recipient organization and documents certifying the activity, duration, position and the remuneration of the applicant.

Instructor: Contrary to the professor visa, this visa concerns teachers at elementary, intermediate or high schools. Those working in a private language school have to apply for a "Specialist in Humanities/International Services” visa.

Artist: Composers, sculptors, craftspeople, photographers, etc. who work in artistic activities for a public or a private institution. If they are independent, they need to generate sufficient income to live in Japan. Specific documents like material showing the achievements of the artistic activity need to be provided.

Entertainer: People working in sports, theatrical, musical performances or any other show business, excluding activities that would fall under the investor/business manager visa. Personal history and documents certifying the career and qualification or the achievements in show business of the applicant will need to be provided.

Skilled Labor: Chef in Foreign Restaurant, Confectionery Instructor, Cake Artist, Sommelier, Civil Engineer in foreign countries, processor of gems, etc. must apply for a Skilled Labor visa.
Depending on the type of work, applicants must have 3 to 10 years of professional experience, period of training included, and have a higher level of skill than the standard level in Japan.

Highly Skilled Professional: Introduced in 2012, this visa is intended to attract foreigners with "outstanding abilities and credentials". To be eligible, applicants receive points according to their educational and professional background, income, and academic achievement. When accumulating 70 points or more, a preferential status and immigration treatment is accorded. These include permission of multiple purposes of activities, a 5 year period of stay, relaxation of the requirements to obtain a permanent residence status, employment eligibility for their spouse, permission to bring a parent, and permission to sponsor and employ a domestic servant.

Specialist in Humanities: Individuals who work in legal, economic, social fields or in human science can apply for this visa. A university degree or 10 years of professional experience are required.
Intra-company transferee: Employees transferred from a foreign company headquarter to the branch in Japan, or from a Japanese subsidiary to the headquarter in Japan, may apply for this visa. The main requirement is to have worked more than one year overseas, and to work in fields that would normally be covered under the specialist in humanities, international services or engineering visas.
