Houthi Drones Downed By Saudi Arabian Defense

The drones targeted Khamis Mushait in the Kingdom's south and caused no damage or casualties, the Arab Coalition said in a brief statement released early Tuesday by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).  The attacks come as SPA reported the coalition was intensifying air raids on Houthi positions in the northern Yemeni province of Hajjah.  Last month, the Saudi air defenses shot down a bomb-laden drone deployed by Houthi rebels that targeted Jazan airport, close to the southern border with Yemen, the coalition said.  The airport is used by thousands of civilians every day, but the coalition reported no casualties and warned the rebels of a strong response.    Ads      Sponsored Links    In Yemen, coalition fighters intensified overnight air strikes on Houthi positions in the districts of Abes and Haradh in the northwestern province of Hajjah.   According to the Yemeni Ministry of Defense website, September Net, the air raids targeted the Houthi concentrations west of Haradh city and destroyed the vehicles of the militia.   The fighters also targeted a vehicle carrying a number of Houthi fighters in the governorate of Abs.     The coalition led by Saudi Arabia threw its support behind the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi in early 2015 amid attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis.
