OFW LOST BAGGAGE WITH VALUABLES IN AN ILO-ILO - MANILA TRIP, REFUSED TO ACCEPT COMPENSATION, SEEK AIRLINE EXPLANATION INSTEAD

An OFW from Qatar lost her baggage containing valuables while on an Ilo-ilo- Manila flight. The airline company offered to give  acertain amount for damages but the OFW refused to accept it saying the value is much lesser than the lost items.
The OFW Lourdes Ambani said that she hand carried her bag containing valuables but the airline staff took it from her. The said baggage has been lost and the airline company offered P17,400 for the lost baggage, way lesser than the amount of jewelries and other valuables inside the bag. Miss Ambani refused to accept the compensation but instead seek for an explanation why her baggage has been lost under the airline custody.

Miss Ambani can also file a case to Civil Aeronautics Board but the compensation or damages has limitations and will be based on air passenger bill of rights and will still be much lesser than the actual price of the lost items.

The OFW call for honesty in the part of the airline company to provide her with an explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding the lost of her baggage.

OFW From Jeddah Asking For Help To Locate His Luggage Which He Lost At NAIA

An overseas Filipino worker, Mr. Ampuan, who was a passenger of Kuwait Airways Flight No. 411 on May 4, 2016, from Jeddah to Manila is asking for help to locate his luggage through the use of social media. During his check in at Jeddah International Airport, he asked for the help of a fellow passenger because his checked-in baggage was overweight. This kabayan agreed to help him with his excess baggage so he checked-in the trolley bag of Mr. Ampuan, however, upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) he lost contact with the kabayan, and his efforts to locate him at the airport were in vain.

Unfortunately, Mr. Ampuan was not able to get the name of the passenger who helped him check-in his excess baggage. He only remembers that the kabayan is from Davao and that he will be on a three-month vacation. He also checked the lost and found section at NAIA in case it was left there. He is asking for help to whoever knows someone from Mindanao or Davao who took Kuwait Airways Flight No. 411 on May 4, 2016, from Jeddah to Manila to kindly contact Mr. Ampuan at these numbers: +639 30408 8327 or +639 97241 2032.
