“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”

Albert Einstein

""Forget yourself and go to work.""

— Bryant S. Hinckley to son Gordon B. Hinckley

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Mahatma Gandhi

"God does not begin by asking us about our ability, but only about our availability, and if we then prove our dependability, he will increase our capability.”

Neal A. Maxwell

I am truly overwhelmed by the warm and tremendous enthusiasm the OFWs and non-OFW's are extending to KABLOGS and PEBA and the great dedication of the men and women who serves in their own sphere.

For my triple decade years of life, if I've learned anything about life, ito ay kung papaano magkaroon ng tunay and lasting happiness, or a three letter word "J-O-Y" is

yung wag kang umupo at magtutunganga dahil sa problema, karamdaman, afflictions, infirmities, kakulangan, at kawalan ng pag-asa.

Ang tunay na kasiyahan at kaligayahan ay kahit ikaw ay mahirap lang, walang wala, di man sikat or walang kagandahan ngunit, bagkus, datapwat, marahil...

despite ng kahirapan at kakulangan, gagamitin mo ang hirap at kulang na ito to an advantage in EMPOWERING YOURSELF TO REACH OUT TO THOSE WITH MUCH GREATER NEED.

Binata pa ako before kaya tinanong niya ako, what I am doing here. I should be roaming around the country meetings girls and enjoying life.

I smiled. In my mind I said, "Tiziano, you don't get it"

Bakit ka nga ba nasa ibang bansa? Bakit nga ba tayo nandito? To some nakapag-asawa ng mga foreigner na minahal sila at mahal din nila, to some naging permanenteng residente ng mga bansang dati nilang pinagsisilbihan, to some para mabayaran ang utang, to some para makaahon sa kahirapan, to some para mabigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang mga mahal sa buhay. To some para makapagadventure sa ibang bansa, and to some para makaranas ng maginhawang pamumuhay. Regardless of where we are, there come a time na nalulungkot tayo, nahohomesick.

Now, if you are discourage, nababagot, naiinis sa amo at sa mga kasamahan sa flat, sa tindero or katrabaho...

Think about it. We are here not just for us, but for them...yung mga nasa Pilipinas. So the next time nagrereklamo ka mainit, si boss masungit, or halos babagsak ang langit, wear a smile and think about it. Bakit ka nandito, to make you happy, and to make other's happy.

DI SILA ANG MASTER NG SARILI MO. THEY WONT DICTATE YOU TO GET MAD OR RUN WILD. KAYA WEAR YOUR SMILE, FORGET YOURSELF, and GO TO WORK!

If You Are Called To Lead

Somewhere along the way, we are all called to lead.
We maybe called to lead a group, an organization, in our job, and most importantly in our family.

Last year I posted an entry entitled "The TorchBearer"

Please find time to read it.

Translation: Huwag maging mayabang. Naaadmire ko talaga ang mga taong despite of their successes sa buhay, despite of the heights sa mga career nila at sa financial at temporal, as well as fame at glory na nakamit nila, ay reachable pa rin sila, friendly pa rin sila, at higit sa lahat meron pa ring understanding that every individual is unique and special.

I admire yung mga blogger na ang goal is not to have more visitors na pumupunta sa kanila na wala na man ginagawa but yung nagbabasa mismo ng mga blogs mo, thereby knowing you and feels like friend mo na kasi alam mo na thoughts nila.

I am grateful sa mga taong iyon. I am more grateful sa mga taong nagblo blog at nagcocomment sa blogs ko. I feel like I owe this people kasi isang masarap na feeling ang nararamdaman ko kung may nagcocomment.
TO INSPIRE OTHERS.
And hope naiinspire ko kayo, at maiinspire kayo.

A little quote of the day;

“Take the attitude of a student,

never be too big to ask questions,

never know too much to learn something new.”

- Og Mandino

The Torchbearer

The God of the Great Endeavor gave me a torch to Bear.

I lifted it high above me in the dark and murky air.

Straightway and loud hosannas the crowd acclaimed its light.

And followed me as I carried my torch through the dark and starless night.

Till mad with the people’s praises and drunken with vanity,

I forgot it was the Torch that drew them

And fancied they followed me.

And my arm grew sore and weary upholding the shiny load,

And my tired feet went stumbling over the hilly road.

I fell, the torch beneath me, in a moment the flame was out.

But lo! From the throng a stripling sprang forth with a mighty shout,

Caught up the torch as it smouldered and lifted it high again,

Till fanned by the winds of heaven it fired the souls of men.

As I lay alone in the darkness,

The feet of the trampling crowd, pass over and beyond me,

Their praises proclaimed aloud.

And I learned in the deepening shadow this glorious verity,

T’is the torch the people follow, who ‘ere the bearer be.

Humbert Wolfe

I copied this poem
from the desk of my mission president when I was called as an Assistant to him
on my mission a decade ago.

Wherever I go, this poem is a constant reminder to me to be humble especially if you are called to lead. Those who have been called to serve should remember always, despite the adulation and abounding praise and vanities we will receive, we are there to direct people's attention and life to Him, we are instrument to His hands, whatever path of destiny we are are traversing, our simple pride will always be sublime to the praise and glory of our God.
