OWWA is giving scholarships to OFW dependents, not just in Baguio in NCR but in all other regions in the Philippines. This program is replicated all over the Philippines and interested applicants can apply for the scholarships provided by OWWA to the children of OFWs and their dependents.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration -CAR are now accepting applicants under OWWA College Scholarships on the following programs for the qualified dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with active OWWA membership for financial assistance of P60, 000.00 per SY.
A. Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) for courses leading to any 4 to 5-year Baccalaureate course
Who may apply under EDSP
1. For incoming Freshmen
- Child /sibling of active OFW for EDSP
- Single
-Grade 12 graduating student this coming 2018
- Not more than 21 years old.
2. For those already enrolled in 2nd to 5th year college
- Single
- Not more than 30 yrs old
- With a general Weighted average not lower than B letter grade or 85% equivalence in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load.
B. Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) for baccalaureate courses from the priority fields in Science and Technology as identified by Department of Science & Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI)
Basic qualifications under CMWSP
1. Be a child of an OFW whose annual gross income is not more than US $6,780.00 2. Not more than 21 year-old and graduating high school student or who has graduated but never enrolled to college or associate courses; 3. A Filipino citizen with good health and of good moral character; 4. Not a recipient of any scholarship award from any government or private institution; 5. Has passed the qualifying examination for OWWA CMWSP scholarship conducted nationwide by DOST on 15 October 2017.

Here is a good news to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW)s and their dependents who wish to pursue the technical vocational course.
You may now apply for training assistance program of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Skills for Employment Scholarship Program (SESP).
This program is open to all active OWWA members, or their dependents. OWWA will pay the expenses of taking up any tech-voc course accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in any training course within their respective region.
Under the SESP, the applicant is granted to the actual cost of training fee, with a maximum of P14,500.
In the event the training fee for the applicant’s chosen course is above the said amount, the applicant shall bear the excess cost.
The scholarship is open to OFWs who return to the country with valid OWWA membership. If the OFW is abroad, the scholarship is also extended to the OFW’s qualified dependents: spouse or child for married OFWs; or single sibling for single OFWs. OFW child should also be 21 years old or below by the time of application.
SESP is offered to active OFWs and their legal dependents who wish to enroll in the 6-months or 1-year Technical Vocational courses in any TESDA-accredited training institution.

What is Skills for Employment Scholarship Program (SESP)?
This is scholarship for short-term training program with a maximum value of Php 14,500.00 per course leading to the completion of a vocational or technical course in any school accredited by TESDA.
Who can avail this scholarship?
Active members of OWWA like:
* vacationing OFWs or (landbased and seabased)
* finished contract workers but are still active member of OWWA.
* Qualified dependents of an OFW can also take SESP
1. Spouse of an OFW
2.Child not older than 21 years old
3.Brother/sister not older than 21 years old of an unmarried OFW
Why take the program?
By taking additional vocational and technical courses, the knowledge and skills of an OFW is enhanced giving them advantage and additional credential which may be necessary for their work overseas. This education credential could lead an OFW to qualify for a promotion or much better job function.
How to apply for this scholarship?

5.For dependents: proof of relationship to OWWA member (e.g. copy of marriage contract and/or birth certificate of both OFW and applicant- dependent duly certified by the Local Civil Registrar)
What are the requirements
1.Must be an active OWWA member (land-based or sea-based) or beneficiary/dependent of an active OWWA member
2. Must pass the TESDA qualifying examination or Multiple Aptitude Battery Test (MABT) on the program of choice- This is usually done in the school of your choice, for example in Tagaytay, one of the schools that has TESDA courses is Olivarez College. Upon inquiry, a TESDA admission/assessment test will be administered to the applicant. This is free of charge too.
3. Have at least one (1) recorded membership contribution
