"An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in South Korea will be spending Christmas in the Philippines, but not with his family.
The OFW, who is from Cauayan, Isabela, has been sent back from South Korea to face the charges he is facing for allegedly raping his teenage niece.
He arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on the wee hours of Thursday on board Asiana Air Flight OZ-705 from Pusan.
The OFW, 32, arrived together with a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) team that fetched him from South Korea.
According to Daniel Daganzo, NBI Interpol chief, the suspect has been working in South Korea for almost a year before he was arrested by the Korean Interpol.
Daganzo said the suspect was a legitimate OFW.
Records show the suspect was able to secure a job in South Korea before he was put on the Bureau of Immigration's watchlist.
