P200-Subsidy To Minimum Wage Earners Nationwide— DOLE


The 4.1 million minimum wage earners nationwide (based on the Labor Department estimate) may have something good to look forward to.

Advertisement        Sponsored Links       “Pinagaralan namin yung possible na mabigyan sila ng subsidy,” he said in an interview.  “Ang alam ko P200 a month. Pero one time na lang ibigay so that is P2,400. One time ibibigay. That is for the whole year na iyan,” added Bello.  He said the budget will come from the government.  Asked how did they come up with the amount, Bello said it was reached upon consultation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Finance (DOF).  “Iyon siguro yung kaya na computations kung ano yung kaya ng gobyerno at saka kung ano yung makakatulong na mararamdaman na tulong ng mga minimum wage earners,” he said.  Bello said the proposal still needs the approval of the Office of the President.  “Hindi tayo sigurado kung maapprove. Pero it will be our recommendation. Subject to the approval of Malacanang siyempre,” he said.  Bello said they are eyeing to provide the subsidies for a period of three years.
