OFW Tied On A Tree In KSA Now Repatriated

Just recently, a photo of an overseas Filipino worker allegedly deployed in Saudi Arabia who is tied up on a tree. According to the post, she was allegedly tied up by her sponsors in a tree outside her sponsor's house. The incident, according to the social media post, happened in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The OFW was tied on a tree by her employer as a punishment for allegedly exposed a piece of household furniture under the sun. The employer is reportedly a member of the Saudi’s royal family. Department of Foreign Affairs had already taken action regarding the incident and repatriated the OFW the same day as they received the report.

The case of the Pinay was referred to the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh on May 9 and she was repatriated on the same day, the DFA said.    "OFW Baruelo was allegedly punished by her employer by being tied to a tree," DFA said.
