200,000 FREE TESDA SCHOLARSHIP FOR MINDANAO YOUTH






Two hundred thousand scholarship will be given by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for Mindanao youth next year.

With this TESDA chief Guiling Mamondiong is urging the young people from Mindanao to avail themselves of free skills training from the government.



The objective of the scholarship is make education more accessible to young people from the region.

Mamondiong said, there is a P1.5 billion budget allocated for TESDA skills training in Mindanao.




Breakdown of Scholars

1. 30,000 for Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN

2. 25,000 for Northern Mindanao and Caraga Region

3. 60,000 for Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao

The agency is working with the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas in selecting the program’s beneficiaries.







Mamondiong warned local officials not to use the program to advance their political interest.

“It is the goal of President Duterte to provide skills training to all Filipinos. That’s why we should never use the TESDA project for our special interest,” he said.

Those who want to avail themselves of the scholarship may visit the agency’s provincial and regional offices or www.tesda.gov.ph.

TESDA ONLINE APPLICATION


On the other hand, TESDA has launched its online application for those who are interested in availing of its scholarship programs under the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

“Applying for a TESDA scholarship online is now a 5-10 minute procedure. We have tried our best to make it as convenient and hassle-free. There is now no reason why anyone cannot avail of free tech-voc training and enjoy the opportunities that it will bring,” said TESDA Director General Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong.

Mamondiong said that courses available include Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) and Special Training for Employment Program (STEP).

Mamondiong said that the new form will make it quicker and easier for applicants to avail of the scholarships.

Log on to http://www.tesda.gov.ph/Education/ or http://www.tesda.gov.ph/Barangay/


Step 1. Start a new application



1.1 Fill up the form.

1.2 Click CREATE Button.
1.3 Receive your Learner's ID. 


(Note:One time registration only. If you are already registered please proceed to Step 2)


Step 2. Select TESDA Training Program 

2.1 Click on the TESDA Technology Institute
2.2 Select Course
2.3 Enter your Lastname and Learner's ID
2.4 Verify your Profile
2.5 Application complete 


Step 3 - Feedback from TESDA Office

3.1 Check your email for the feedback of TESDA Office
The online application is one of the programs under the Reform and Development Agenda of TESDA which was created to make sure that scholarship application is a lot easier.
