OFW MOVIE "SUNDAY BEAUTY QUEEN: Have you watched it yet?

Sunday Beauty Queen recently bagged the Best Picture Award from the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in spite of the fact that it was not shown in major cinemas in the country. Being the only OFW oriented MMFF entry, it tackles the true-to-life Cinderella story of the OFWs working in Hong Kong. The one day glamour of the life of Hong Kong household service workers out of busy, unforgiving week of workloads. It is the first documentary film about OFWs that made it as an entry to the prestigious MMFF for a very long time. It tackles about HSWs in Hong Kong, their daily life, their struggles and everything that they've been through. There are 190,000 documented OFW professional helpers in Hong Kong. They work almost 24 hours a day for 6 days. Sunday is their rest day. The only day that they can spend for themselves. But just like the story of Cinderella, at the end of the day, glamour and fancy bliss ends and it's time to go back to reality. If you did not watch this movie yet, take time to watch. It will definitely uplift your spirit if you are an OFW, and if you are not an OFW, you will further understand their situation and will surely change the notion that OFW life is fun and just like picking up dollars on the street.
