What is Republic Act 7610?

A child is considered a gift from God since not everyone is enjoying the privilege of having a baby. They are angels that can take away all the miseries of their parents with just a smile and giggles.
Child abuse is a serious criminal offense and every child has to be protected under the law. 
Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act is created to protect children and to penalize who will violate children's rights.

The video shows a little girl with eyes nearly closed due to severe bruises from the cruel hands of her stepmother.    Aside from the bruises on her face, the child also suffered fractured bones, hematoma, and wounds.     The stepmom was identified as Berna Espina, the new partner of the girl's father. Berna still denies the allegations saying that it was an accident.      Ads   However, because the girl is clearly abused physically, the couple is now facing child abuse charges in effect of RA 7610.   SEC. 10. Other Acts of Neglect, Abuse, Cruelty or Exploitation and Other Conditions Prejudicial to the Child’s Development reads:       (a) Any person who shall commit any other acts of child abuse, cruelty or exploitation or be responsible for other conditions prejudicial to the child’s development including those covered by Article 59 of Presidential Decree No. 603, as amended, but not covered by the Revised Penal Code, as amended, shall suffer the penalty of prision mayor in its minimum period or six years imprisonment.     Not only about physical abuse and maltreatment, any offense against children like engaging and using them in any activity involving prohibited drugs.   Every parent or guardian must be responsible in guiding their children especially in their early age where they need a correct guide for them to build a foundation of their life.
