According to Opav Secretary Michael Dino, this is a one-stop-shop that would give the indigent resident an access to health benefits.

Dino explained that indigent only has to go to one place - The Malasakit Center, inside the hospital where they have to fill up one form for all the agencies. This will be followed by an assessment of hospital social workers.

The center will have representatives from the Central Visayas offices (Region 7) of the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
