Another OFW Wins One Million Dirhams In Abu Dhabi



Filipinos in the UAE continue their winning streak as another OFW takes home Dh1 million or roughly P14 million for being one of the ten lucky winners of Big Ticket Millionaire Raffle in Abu Dhabi.  The draw was held on Thursday, October 5, at the Arrivals Hall of the Abu Dhabi International Airport.  Big Ticket Millionaire is the longest-running prize raffle draw hosted at the said airport. Big Ticket, now in its 25th year, aims to bring residents and expats in the UAE “closer to their big dreams”.  Tickets for all prize draws are available through www.bigticket.ae and also in-store at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain Duty Free, Ghweifat Duty Free and Abu Dhabi City Terminal.   Leilani Quijano Del Rosario, who works as a nurse in Abu Dhabi, said the money will help in looking after her kids. A mother of three, she is separated and living in the UAE Capital for 14 years now.  "My two kids are studying back in the Philippines while a third one has started working. This amount will help in repaying my loans and help my students in pursuing their higher education. I am managing the affairs alone and this amount will help me immensely," Leilani said.  She, however, will be sharing the prize money with her colleagues.  "We all colleagues chipped in with money to buy the ticket. And will now share it accordingly," Leilani said.  And how she plans to celebrate? "Nothing, I will be going to church to say my thanks to the lord and also the UAE for this good blessing," Leilani added.  Other winners, mostly Indians, are all men.
