United Kingdom is Hiring Filipino Workers: 7,200 Jobs Open For Filipinos

More than 7,000 jobs are now waiting for Filipino workers in the United Kingdom.

The country is not just hiring nurses, but they are also looking for civil engineers, linemen, and foreman; jobs with high salary.

A transmission lineman may get almost P137,000 a month in the UK, P132,000 for a foreman and more than P139,000 for a civil engineer.

The country has a job opportunity for drivers that may earn P92,000; P113,000 for nurses; P61,000 for caregivers and P62,000 for computer programmers.

Cooks have an hourly rate of P350 while P286 for bookkeeper and cashier.

According to Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), having a work experience is an advantage if a worker is applying for lineman and foreman. It says that transmission lineman is in demand in the UK.

POEA added, the harder the work, the bigger the pay.

As of the moment, there are 7,200 job openings in the UK for Filipinos to grab. POEA further explains that all job openings in the UK will go through recruitment agencies.

On the other hand, a local recruitment agency doubts the above-mentioned report that the UK is in need of more than 7,000 Filipino Workers in different fields.

Lito Soriano, president of the Philippine Association of Service Exporters Inc. describe the news as "fake".
He said there is growing unease among the Filipino community on how Britain’s economy will survive the Brexit from the European Union.

Soriano explained that many OFWs in the Middle East are affected by the said news because they want to resign and try their luck with the alleged UK jobs.

Another industry leader, Jackson Gan, former president of the Pilipino Manpower Agencies Accredited to Taiwan, refuted statements attributed to an official of the POEA that Filipino professionals holding Professional Regulation Commission licenses are qualified to work in the UK.

He said there is no reciprocal agreement between the Philippines and the UK which means, any professional wishing to work in the UK must pass the qualifying examination for his or her profession there.
