Are All OFWS Under The Mandatory Home Development Mutual Fund Coverage?



Here are some frequently asked questions regarding the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or Republic Act 9679.


Republic Act 9679 became effective on August 27, 2009 and has been fully implemented on January 2110.
 All Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWS), landbased or seabased are required to register to Pag-IBIG, according to implementing rules and regulations.
 All of  working Filipinos in the Philippines or even overseas must have equal chances to benefit from the programs of Pag-IBIG. Membership has been made mandatory for OFWs to allow them to reach their goal of having their own houses.

 Pag-IBIG assures that all contributions will be credited to the member even if they changed their employer. This includes their previous contributions. It will remain portable regardless of how many changes of company or employers they had.
 The contributions made by Pag-IBIG are free of taxes.





 Members are encouraged to pay bigger contributions to receive even bigger benefits.






 Under the universal coverage, every members has 20 years membership terms.
