President Rodrigo Duterte Wins TIME 100 Reader Poll

After consistently leading at the onset of the Time Magazine Top 100 Most Influential People - Readers' Survey, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte finished at the top among choices like US President Donald J. Trump, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Harry Potter author JK Rowling, actress Emma Watson and mega-artists Lady Gaga, Beyonce.  President Duterte received 5% of the total "yes" votes in the poll, which closed Sunday night. Coming in second were Pope Francis, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They all got 3% of the total "yes" votes. US President Donald Trump scored 2%.  The survey asked readers to answer the question "Who do you think should be included in the Time Magazine 100 Most Influential People of 2017?" U.S. Bernie Sanders won the readers' survey in 2016. Russian President Vladimir Putin won the position in 2015.  The TIME 100 is made up of notable figures in politics, arts, science and more. TIME's editors will ultimately choose the TIME 100. The survey is meant to gauge what the readers think. The official TIME 100 list will be announced on April 20.
