The Goodness Within Us

When I announced this Friday to my group of friends here in Saudi that we will be gathering used clothing, shoes, anything that we don't use, and we think the victims can use, and donate it to them, there was a nod in everybody's faces.

Meron ngang tanong from a South African that weighed around 300 pounds;

"Kenji, are there Filipinos my size?" We laughed. Yes.

When we get home, people started calling where they can drop their donations, packs, and boxes. Mrs. Thoughtskoto is very busy also right now, she is gathering clothes of Hevyn, stuffs of hers and mine that we don't use as well.

I've asked yesterday where to drop off these boxes of donations, Yanah said the local TFC office are accepting them, and I've read that LBC Express are accepting them also.

I am also thinking of the boxes that PEBA received from Andrew of SinuateMedia to donate to the victims in Marikina. I will have to ask NJ's approval and Pete's disposition.

One American soldier conducting a medical mission in the flooded area evacuation center asks

"How come Filipinos are still smiling and giving us High-Fives amidst this tragedy?"

It is a wonder, but it is also the culture, and the fact that we know, and we have tremendous hope that after the storm, the sun will still shine.

Above all, the goodness within us, the natural kindness of Filipino's coupled with the talents and skills and the knowledge we gained makes us hopeful, makes us smile despite of the challenges and adversities we face.

I have a workmate that was devastated that he is back to zero, or even below zero, because his house was buried in the mud, his furnitures are all gone, his tv, washing, ref, pc, component, clothes and many others are beyond repair.

To you Mang Wilson, it is still a blessing that you are an OFW. OFW's affected by Ondoy will get a help and loans from the OWWA, to start over, and this was according to him.

God bless our kababayans out there. And even though storms will keep coming, we are still a beautiful country, with awesome and good people, ready to help, to lend time, efforts and even give cash and donations in kind to help someone recover, gather the pieces, and rebuild their lives.

I love being a Filipino! I love the Philippines! I love PEBA! (lol)

I am back to business, sabi ng kaibigan ko, hehe. May internet na ako ulit kaya makakavisit na ako sa inyo, tuloy-tuloy na ang buhay. Yehey!

Nakita niyo ang New Header and theme ng site namin? This is because the summer is gone. Winter time is coming. Green is gone, but it is in. It is fresh, and it is symbolic of a new start.

At higit sa lahat it is good to the eyes. Hope you guys like it!

This is probably the toughest challenge our people will ever face. I have witnessed a few floods myself as I was growing up in Pasay City but nothing of this magnitude. I hope and pray that in the coming days, weeks, months and years ahead that our beloved kababayans would see a renewed town, life and hope. I have confidence in their strength, courage and faith in God that someday we would again see the towns of Rizal and nearby metro Manila get rebuilt, refaced and renewed.

Despite of the the tragedy, the sea of mud, heap of garbages, and the material wealths that has been washed away by the storm, the Filipinos managed to smile because we are people of profound faith, inflagging hope, we will be able to cope and pass through these hurdles with our Lord's help and also from everyone who open their hearts to help them every step of the way.

Miracles comes true in the eyes of the believer.

I love your site's new scheme, GREEN symbolizes HOPE.

Nakakataba ng puso it makes me proud to be a Filipino to once again see that bayanihan still lives on inside the heart of everyone...
my boss also asked me if my family needs donation seeing the devastation of Ondoy all over the news, nakakatuwa na napupukaw ng pagtutulungan ng mga Pinoy ang ibang lahi.
I would also like to salute RJ Jimenez, Ate Shawie & Ate Guy (impersonator/comedians) who did a show here last night at SG...wala po silang hininging talent fee at nagcollect sila ng mga donations during the entire show, they we're able to collect 30 boxes of clothes and goods and able to raise cash donation the whole night. All donations will be for Sagip-Kapamilya Foundation. Bravo!

True. This episode of Ondoy made me a prouder Pinoy (kung sino man ang hindi nakadama nito ay manhid! hehe). (Bakit nga ba ang pagkakaisa natin ay nakikita lamang sa oras ng kagipitan? D b pwedeng magkaisa tayo araw-araw?).

I love your new header. It breaths new life. (And don't think that I didn't notice that butterfly! I did!).

Mabuhay ka Kenjie at buong Thoughskoto family! Mabuhay si Ka Wilson at ang buong sambayanang Pinoy! Mabuhay ang PEBA, Kablogs at lahat ng ispiritung gumagabay dito!

It is really an honor to be part of the Filipino race. I'm proud of how we voluntarily extend our help to all the victims of the typhoon despite that most us are also victims, one way or another. I also commend all the people behind PEBA and Kablogs who are always willing to support and uplift the spirits of our fellow OFWs.

May God always bless our country and its people...
