THE REAL WINNER

ANG TUNAY NA PANALO AY YUNG NAKIKIBAHAGI NG TALENTO.

The past few days and the coming days, there are winners, and who will win, and there are also losers and who will lose. Life is full of constant win or lose game and everybody has their own share in winning and losing.

Manny Pacman Pacquiao wins much and lots, warm our hearts, makes us all proud, lifted our sagging spirit, and stunned the world with his strength and commitment.

The winner of the PEBA Badge Design Contest will join the PEBA team, will be awarded this December, and will be proclaim with much acclamation and fame. But there are others who joined and who tried to come up with the best they can too. If I am the sole judge, I will choose all. In fact, we voted all. I and the Thoughtskoto family voted all designs, because you can vote for more or all. But there will only be two winner, popular and the judges choice, or it could also be both in one design.

Everybody wants to be a winner.

When I was young I wanted to win, anything and everything. It feels great to win. It recognize something, it boost self-esteem. Nakakataba ng puso, nakakalaki ng tenga, at nakakahaba ng buhok. I have my own share of failures too. I run as an SK Chairman against the daughter of a prominent politician and lost.  I joined writing contests and lost. I fall in love and failed. I was nominated to the Bloggers Choice Awards and lost. I can’t write them one by one and but all through out my life, I have countless losses and failings. But I DO NOT consider myself a FAILURE, or a MEDIOCRE, or lampa, or talunan. Life is a competition, and I tried to compete. But it hurts me to see someone lose. So I plan carefully and tried to find ways to make everybody happy or a winner. Though that’s quite impossible, let me share to you something’s.

I was once a college president, been to National Youth Leadership Institute, been a University Leadership Awardee, an Assistant to the Mission President, and some other leadership positions. I’ve win several awards and honors. Don’t want to brag about them all. But the real joy and satisfaction cannot be gained in winning or found in power or fame. It is found within. It is by sharing that we win. It is by giving that we gain. It is by making others happy and joyful that we can truly say we are happy. Thus as you can see, anyone who loves his/her family will do everything they can to make their love ones happy because that’s what makes them happy too.

I told my wife this over and over again. My love for her and our little baby defines my happiness and joy. That’s quite corny. I know. But when you truly love someone or some people, you want to make them happy because seeing them joyful creates a feeling so wonderful and warm to the heart, right?

This is the reason I am sharing PEBA to others, and I am so grateful for these wonderful people. This is the same reason I am sharing KABLOGS to others, and I am likewise thankful to these willing and humble people for accepting the call. We need more volunteers. It is only by sharing that we feel a sense of joy, a sense of winning because sharing doesn’t shrink us, it magnifies us.
